Romans 6:6-9 (NIV84)
6 It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. 7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”[a]8 In other words, it is not the natural children who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. 9 For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.”[b]
I’m convinced there are many lessons we could draw from this text, but knowing what is on my heart, God gave me these four simple lessons this morning:
- God’s Word doesn’t fail.
- God has a specific plan for me.
- God has a specific plan for my children.
- God has a timetable for His plan.
And the application for me:
Rest and be patient in God’s plan for our family. Don’t guess. Don’t rush it.
What do these lessons mean to you?
