Don’t Guess. Don’t Rush It.

Romans 6:6-9 (NIV84)

It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”[a]In other words, it is not the natural children who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.”[b]

I’m convinced there are many lessons we could draw from this text, but knowing what is on my heart, God gave me these four simple lessons this morning:

  1. God’s Word doesn’t fail.
  2. God has a specific plan for me.
  3. God has a specific plan for my children.
  4. God has a timetable for His plan.

And the application for me:

Rest and be patient in God’s plan for our family. Don’t guess. Don’t rush it.

What do these lessons mean to you?
